The Bright Tangerine Misfit Kick is a versatile mattebox for all types of filmmaking, configurable as a clip-on, rod mounted, or swing away solution. This kit includes the Misfit Kick core, 4x5.65" filter trays, and a carbon fiber top flag, clamp adapter (sold separately) to suit lenses ranging from 80mm to 143mm.

The clamp adapters feature a new Frame Safe design for an extra wide field of view, even when using large format sensors with wide lenses. The Misfit Kick features an all-new patented reveal stage design, making it more robust and easier to operate in the field, converting from a 2-stage to 3-stage mattebox without any extra hardware or tools, just a third filter tray.

Rather than using inset ball bearings like traditional matteboxes, the Misfit Kick utilizing a new spring system with a protruding ridge to secure the filter trays, creating a positive locking mechanism with tactile feedback for increased confidence when loading filters.

For even greater security, a filter guard can be mounted to the bottom of the sunshade. The sunshade is built from high-grade carbon fiber and the reveal system from CNC cut hard anodised aluminium for extra strength while staying lightweight. For additional light protection, the user can add an optional top flag, side flag or hard mattes for precise control over flares and image contrast.

When working in fast paced environments, such as with a tracking vehicle, drone, or jib, a safety loop provides a secure tethering point for a safety wire or lanyard. Knurled, captive locking screws are used to secure filters in place, preventing screws from going missing while in the field.
