The famous Contax Zeiss Super Speed Set compared with Zeiss SuperSpeeds and matched as very similar or same glass elements. GL Optics features Contax prime lenses that have been re-housed for cinema applications. The set includes 35mm T1.4, 50mm T1.4, 85mm T1.4, which all cover up to full-frame formats. The lenses come packaged in a hard flight case.

These are the Contax creme de-la-creme. And not surprisingly, these are the ones that still exist in the ZF/ZE lineup (except the 100), with only very modest changes to their optical designs. The Contax Zeiss 1.4 “Supers” are superb, have lots of character, and will add incredible value to your shoots. The Contax Zeiss 85mm f1.4 has almost NO DISCERNIBLE distortion, and I believe this is the pixie dust that makes it a remarkable portrait lens. Of course the older, less contrasty T* coatings are very forgiving on faces, which only adds to the appeal. The Contax Zeiss 35mm ´f1.4 has fantastically creamy bokeh WO, and has mind-boggelingly close-focusing magic. The Contax Zeiss CY 50mm f1.4 is razar, razor sharp stopped down. The 85 1.4 has almost ZERO distortion, which again I think adds to it’s “magic”. The 85 and 100 planars stand out in the Contax world for their remarkable distortion free imagery.

GL Optic's re-housing process outfits each lens with a stainless steel PL mount for use with professional cinema cameras, a 95mm front diameter, and a de-clicked aperture control ring. You'll also find standard mod 0.8 focus and iris gears at uniform positions across all of the lenses, enabling fast lens changes without having to adjust your follow focus position. Additionally, all of the lenses have 330° focus rotation for smooth and precise focus adjustments. Focus and aperture markings are placed on the sides of the lenses for easy viewing by focus pullers.
