Zeiss Standard Speeds, industry workhorses for years, have been used on some of the best looking feature films of the last 40 years. Small size, good sharpness and contrast. They are often used as a slightly less sharp and less contrasty alternative to modern lenses. Films shot with Zeiss Standard speeds include American Hustle, Beautiful mind, Monsters Ball and Fargo.

They are a little soft and have a little more contrast than most modern lenses so if that’s the look you’re going for these Standard Speeds are a great choice. These lenses are also compact and lightweight and the price makes them ideal for productions on a budget.
