RED senzor GEMINI 5K S35 se pyšní vynikajícím výkonem při nízké hladině osvětlení a produkuje čistý obraz s minimem šumu a bohatou kresbou v tmavých partiích. Uživatelé mohou mezi oběma režimy snadno přepínat pomocí nabídky kamery. Snímač dále nabízí – v porovnání se senzorem HELIUM, který má vyšší rozlišení – širší úhel záběru v rozlišeních 2K a 4K. Rozměry snímače 30,72x18 mm také slibují lepší pokrytí anamorfických objektivů, než jaké poskytují senzory HELIUM nebo RED DRAGON.

Kamera RED EPIC-W 5K S35 vychází z rodiny DSMC2 a nabízí záznam 5K FF videa při snímkové frekvenci až 96 fps a datový tok až 275 MB/s. Využívá také nové algoritmy pro zpracování obrazu IPP2 a je schopna simultánního záznamu REDCODE RAW a Apple ProRes nebo Avid DNxHD/HR dat.
