Specifications and parameters
Sony VENICE 2 is a professional digital cinema camera built around a full-frame 8.6K sensor with 16 stops of dynamic range and Dual Base ISO 800/3200. It combines the image quality and color science of the CineAlta system with high resolution suitable for feature films, commercials and demanding VFX productions.
The camera supports internal X-OCN and 4K ProRes recording directly to AXS cards without the need for an external recorder. Full-frame modes offer resolutions up to 8.6K 3:2, while Super 35 modes allow the use of a wide range of S35 lenses. The camera features a PL mount with Cooke /i support, and removing it reveals an integrated Sony E-mount.
The built-in eight-step mechanical ND system ranges from Clear to ND 2.4, providing up to 8 stops of light reduction. The camera also supports anamorphic shooting, internal de-squeeze, LUT workflows and metadata for advanced post-production.
